LETTER TO THE FANS

Hey guys,

As most of you know, Xombie has been my pet project for the last 10 years.  I've spent every spare moment, and every last bit of energy trying to coax Xombie out into the world, no matter the format.  I've written it, I've drawn it - I've even animated it (and yes, I use the term very loosely).  And for the most part, I have succeeded in telling the story.  I have breathed as much 'life' into Dirge and his friends as I possibly can on my own - and Xombie has officially outgrown me. Now is the time to do things right, and give Dirge the freedoms my talent has denied him.  Which is why we need your help.

As most of you also know, I have partnered with a team of producers. They are uber geeks of astronomical caliber, and they are also my dear friends.  Together, they have personally taken Xombie to every major network and studio in existance, and repeatedly met with the same, tired response. Animation is for kids.  Zombies aren't good guys.  And "we just don't get this show."

O RLY?

Despite the fact that Xombie routinely pulls in more viewers than any one show on Adult Swim, Hollywood has failed in every way to grasp the power of this story, not to mention the size of its fanbase.  (That's you)  And the studios that do 'get it' ... well ... let's just say we'd rather not turn the whole thing into a 90-minute string of fart jokes.

In a nutshell, we are tired of waiting for Hollywood.  We are sick of seeing bland, insultingly-bad films get the greenlight instead of ours.  And we refuse to let Xombie 'die.' (Sick of the puns yet? Me too.) That is why we're reaching out to you guys. The fans.  If Hollywood won't give us the boost we need to tell the Xombie story, we're going to find a way to fund it ourselves - and show them that we know what we like better than they do.

If every fan who has enjoyed the show over the last 4 years (I'm hoping that means you) donated just $5, we would have enough money to make our film.  Seriously.  Even after PayPal takes their chunk.  I personally find that to be mind-blowing, but I am notoriously bad at math, and my producers have calculated it all for me.  If you've enjoyed my work over the past 4 years (I really hope you have), and you appreciate what we're trying to do, I hope you can find it in your heart - pocket, PayPal account, whatever - to throw a couple bucks in our jar.

Here's the low down.

Anyone who donates $5 will automatically earn my undying respect, and an eternal figurative seat at my metaphorical right hand.

Anyone who donates $25 or more will earn a personal "Thank You" credit in the film itself.

Anyone who donates $50 or more will get an autographed art print of Dirge (signed by me, unfortunately, not Dirge).

Anyone who donates $100 or more will get a free copy of the movie, if we're able to raise enough money to make it.

Anyone who donates $250 or more will be immortilized forever as a zombie in the film, if we're able to raise enough money to make it.

And here's what we can promise you in return for your generous assistance: If we raise $250K, we could guarantee a new online Xombie episode every month (for at least a couple of years). If we raise $750K, we could either start on the movie (and probably use the completed segment to raise the remainder), or do a shortened version of the movie, as well as guarantee a new Xombie episode every month. If we raise $1.2M, we could make the entire movie, as well as guarantee a new Xombie episode every month. If we raise $2M, we could make two movies, as well as guarantee a new Xombie episode every month. If we raise $3M, we could do the entire trilogy (which is how I envisioned it), as well as guarantee a new Xombie episode every month. If we raise $5M, we could do the trilogy, an X-BOX game, AND guarantee a new Xombie episode every month. No joke.

If this all came off as a sad, pathetic request for your assistance ... well, it is.  I've put 10+ years worth of sweat into the Xombie Universe, and I refuse to let Hollywood dictate when and where this story ends.  Xombie has been seen and enjoyed by millions of fans around the world (that's you, again), and with your help, we can keep Dirge well-preserved for years to come.
